2025 Ellen’s Run named Dan’s Best of the Best Sporting Event!

Honoring 30 Years of Impact

On behalf of the women and families whose lives have been touched and saved, we wish to express our deepest thanks for participating in the 30th Annual Ellen’s Run this August 17th.

You are the heart and sole (pun intended) of The Ellen Hermanson Foundation.

From the very beginning, we have stood by the belief that healthcare is a human right. Over the past 30 years, the Foundation has transformed breast health care on the East End.

Your support of Ellen’s Run during this milestone year ensures that no one is ever turned away from The Ellen Hermanson Breast Center at Stony Brook Southampton Hospital due to lack of insurance or ability to pay.

Thank you for standing (and running) with us every step of the way. TOGETHER WE GO FURTHER!

About Ellen’s Run

Ellen’s Run, an annual 5k (3.1-mile) race, is the signature fundraising event of The Ellen Hermanson Foundation and an innovative, grassroots event, that raises awareness about breast cancer. Held on the East End of Long Island, where breast cancer diagnosis and mortality rates are among the highest in the state of New York, Ellen’s Run draws on the strength of the community and gives back by providing mammography screenings, support and education.

2025 Ellen's Run Surpasses Last Year’s Success, with over 900 runners, raising over $100,000 for Early Breast Cancer Detection and Lifesaving Education Programs on the East End

Special thanks to our rockstar community fundraisers for spreading the word and increasing our impact.

Congratulations to the 2025 30th Annual Ellen’s Run race winners!

Why I run: The words of a breast cancer survivor and Ellen's Run participant:

After losing my mother to metastatic breast cancer, Ellen's Run was a way to honor her memory. I myself was diagnosed with early stage breast cancer two years ago. I've recovered nicely; now the Run is a way to honor me as well. My friends join me in what is a fun and supportive ritual.
