Empowering Women to Thrive Beyond Their Cancer

Ellen’s Well provides psycho-social support to individuals impacted by cancer, helping them build resilience and improve coping skills.

Founded in 2000, Ellen's Well was created with the belief that women can not only survive breast cancer but thrive. Its mission is to address the immediate needs and challenges brought on by a diagnosis and treatment of breast and gynecologic cancers. These challenges include the anxiety of living with a life-threatening disease, the impact on family and work relationships, self-esteem, and a sense of control.

The Foundation has relaunched Ellen’s Well in 2026! Ellen’s Well expands access to emotional and mental health support by delivering its signature psychosocial and wellness programming directly to Community Partners, supporting women and their chosen families through every stage of the breast cancer journey.

All programs and services provided by Ellen’s Well are free of charge.

About Mary Alyce Rogers, LCSW

Rogers received her MSW from the Columbia University School of Social Work, and is a member of the National Association of Social Workers (NASW). She has 20+ years of varied clinical experience working in community and private counseling centers.

Led by Rogers, each of TEHF’s Community Partners (Bridgehampton Child Care and Recreational Center, OLA, The Retreat and Shinnecock Health Clinic) will have regularly scheduled Ellen’s Well support group sessions, and, additionally, individuals at each organization will be able to participate in sessions facilitated by qualified wellness instructors focusing on stress reduction, emotional resilience, and overall well-being. Holding Ellen’s Well programming at each partner’s home ground will decrease barriers to participation.

Transforming Lives

Ellen’s Well was designed to expand access to emotional support, resource navigation, and wellness services through trusted community partners. A licensed social worker provides short-term emotional support, care coordination, referrals, and follow-up services to individuals accessing Ellen’s Well through partner organizations.

Led by Rogers, each of The Foundation’s Community Partners will have regularly scheduled Ellen’s Well support group sessions, and additionally, individuals at each organization will be able to participate in sessions facilitated by qualified wellness instructors, focusing on stress reduction, emotional resilience, and overall well-being.

Wellness Programming

Ellen’s Well sessions consist of partner-hosted wellness programming, delivered by qualified wellness instructors. These sessions, offered 2-4 times per month at The Foundation’s community partner sites, focus on stress reduction, emotional resilience, and overall well-being. Integrating wellness programming into existing partner environments reduces barriers to participation and enhances accessibility.

Holding Ellen’s Well programming at each partner’s home ground will decrease barriers to participation and increase access to the support women, especially those affected by breast cancer, deserve.
