The Ellen Hermanson Foundation and Maureen’s Haven

 
 
 

Sara is delighted to be part of The Ellen Hermanson Foundation /Ellen’s Run team since 2010, first as a volunteer and for the last three years as Director of Special Events. She is a strong supporter of the local homeless and is proudly serving on the Board of Trustees for Maureen’s Haven Homeless Outreach program. As a member of the Social Action at The Jewish Center of the Hamptons (JCOH), she has been coordinating dinners/sleepovers for Maureen’s Haven guests for over twelve years. Previously, Sara was a JCOH board trustee, PTA President for the Hebrew school and continues to play an active role in the set-up of the monthly Community Soup Dinners at Most Holy Trinity Church run by the East Hampton Clericus. Sara is on the Sunset Harbor Benefit Committee for the LGBT Network in Sag Harbor. In addition, Mrs. Blue donates her time and supports various local charities such as Bridgehampton Child Care & Recreational Center, The Retreat, South Fork Bakery, Wounded Warrior Project, the Wellness Foundation and volunteers weekly at The Hamptons Church Food Pantry in Wainscott. For the Coalition for Women’s Cancers at Stony Brook Southampton Hospital, Sara volunteers at the annual Girls Night Out Benefit held at Gurney’s and gives ongoing assistance to the cancer survivors support group for the Spanish community. 

Sara earned her degree in Psychology at Binghamton University. She and her husband Russell, a licensed architect and credentialed LEED professional, reside in Water Mill for the last 19 years. They have a son, Dylan, age 25, who is an actor, director and movie maker.
