Moira Squires

ICU Nurse and Founder, Warriors of the East End

Moira Squires is a registered nurse who has worked in the ICU for the past 16 years. She started her career in the Surgical ICU at Stony Brook University Medical center and for the last 8 years she has been taking care of patients in the ICU at Stony Brook Southampton Hospital.

Moira was diagnosed in 2016 at the age of 36 with triple negative breast cancer during which time she underwent chemotherapy, a double mastectomy and radiation treatment. It was during this time that she met several women who were diagnosed in their 20’s, 30’s and 40’s and she realized that there was a need for a support group that was geared towards this younger population of women. She recently founded the Warriors of the East End support group for young breast cancer survivors to provide support, encouragement and camaraderie.

Moira lives in Southampton with her husband and two children. She enjoys spending her time off at the beach with her family, taking long walks, enjoying activities with her close friends, and mostly appreciating every special moment that life offers us.
