Evelyn Ramunno

Sag Harbor Community Food Pantry

Lifelong local Evelyn “Evie” Ramunno is the Executive Director of The Sag Harbor Food Pantry, Inc. A pantry volunteer for over 20 years, Evie loves and is rewarded by her work, which could not be done without the help of a loyal group of volunteers. She and her team of volunteers provide nearly 100 local families with fresh food and essentials each week. In addition to giving out three bags of groceries to families per week, volunteers also provide information to assist clients in receiving additional social services.

Previously, Evie worked for 28 years at the Sag Harbor School District in administration. She first worked at the Bulova Watchcase Factory, where she met her husband of 60 years, Jim.

Evie was born and raised in Bridgehampton, married at age 19 and spent most of her life in Sag Harbor. She and her late husband raised five children who all graduated from Pierson High School. She has seven grandchildren and three great grandchildren. 

Evie is the recipient of the Sag Harbor Partnership’s 2020 Community Service Award in honor of outstanding commitment to those most in need in the Sag Harbor community. Evie and her volunteers have also received proclamations from the Town of Southampton, New York State and Suffolk County for their efforts in aiding food insecure families in Sag Harbor.
