Raising More Than Dough: Daisy and Chelsea Raise Funds For The Ellen Hermanson Foundation

Daisy and Chelsea are already making a meaningful difference in their community. This summer, the two friends held a bake sale and donated $300 in proceeds to The Ellen Hermanson Foundation, continuing a tradition they began five years ago of holding bake sales to support charitable causes.

The girls, both students at The Brearley School in New York City, woke up at 7 a.m. on a summer Sunday to get everything ready for their sale. Their decision to support The Ellen Hermanson Foundation was especially meaningful to Daisy, whose aunt is a breast cancer survivor.

The girls were first introduced to the Foundation through Ellen’s Run, participating in the annual Southampton 5K for the first time last year. Inspired by the Foundation’s work and their personal connection to breast cancer, they chose to support the organization again this year through their bake sale.

“We are so grateful to Daisy and Chelsea for their creativity, generosity, and for finding a unique way to support The Ellen Hermanson Foundation,” said Mady Schuman, Executive Director. “Their support is a wonderful reminder of the many ways our community continues to come together to make a difference in women’s health care.”

We are deeply grateful to Daisy and Chelsea and to their families for helping carry our mission forward. Their $300 donation will help support our work to ensure that all women in our community have access to essential breast health care, support, and resources, and that no woman has to face breast cancer alone.
